Empirion are a British industrial dance music group, originating from Essex, England. They were formed in 1993, and the original line-up consisted of Austin Morsely, Bob Glennie and Jamie Smart. Career. 1993-1994: Beginnings. Smart was a resident DJ at the Essex nightclubs, Oscars in Clacton and TooToo's in Frating.

Robert "Bobby" Glennie (born 2 October 1957) is a Scottish former footballer, who played for Aberdeen, Dundee, Raith Rovers, Forfar Athletic, Arbroath and Elgin City. He made over 300 league appearances for Dundee and played in the 1980 Scottish League Cup Final defeat by Dundee derby rivals Dundee United .

Touring America was a bitter-sweet moment for the band as member Bob Glennie was diagnosed with cancer shortly before the tour. Unable to join the band on the road and in the studio had its effect on the band as a whole and as a result, Empirion was in a state of limbo. Bob’s battle with cancer ended in 2005. He is sadly missed by all.
