- Our School
St George's School, Ascot is an independent girls' boarding and day school in Ascot, Berkshire, England. It was founded as a boys' school but later became a girls' school.
Our assessment for entry to St George’s is held at the end of November. Candidates sit a combined Maths and English paper (one hour) as well as an online CEM (Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring) test consisting of Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning (1 hour).
The rich history of St George’s masterfully illustrates how education for women developed and flourished throughout the 20th century. Whilst it was founded as a prestigious boys’ prep school in 1877, the turn of the century brought a new owner and a new identity, as a finishing school for girls, infamous for their red cloaks and boater hats.
27 feb 2023 · The school is in the UK’s top 5% for added value, a measurement of how it supports girls to achieve at least one grade higher than expected in GCSE and A-Level. It’s a reflection of the quality of teaching, facilities and holistic education that parents can expect from St George’s.
St George's Ascot is a thriving independent boarding and day school for girls aged 11-18. Pupils come from near and far to the school which was recently awarded the highest grade of 'excellent in all areas' in the Independent Schools Inspectorate's integrated report.
