La settima edizione del Junior Eurovision Song Contest si è svolta il 21 novembre 2009 presso il Palazzo dello Sport di Kiev, in Ucraina. Il concorso si è articolato in un'unica finale condotta da Ani Lorak , Timur Mirošnyčenko e Dmytro Borodin , ed è stato trasmesso in 16 paesi (inclusa l'Australia).
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009 was the seventh edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest and took place in Kyiv, Ukraine. It was scheduled for 21 November 2009. 13 countries were confirmed by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to compete in the contest.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009 will take place on 21 NOVEMBER and will be broadcast live across Europe and on http://www.junioreurovision.tv.

Belgium selected their Junior Eurovision Song Contest entry for 2009 through Junior Eurosong, a national selection consisting of 12 songs. Before the final, three semi-finals were held with four songs each.
