Patsy KAR Ling. 嘉玲(1936–2022.11.21) Actress. Originally named Ho Ying (aka Ho Pui-ying), Patsy Kar took the name Ho Kar-ling when she was in school. Born in Guangzhou, a native of Nanhai, Guangdong, she fled the war with her family to Hong Kong and later returned to the Mainland.
Kar Ling’s elegance and exquisite beauty made her convincing playing wealthy ladies or social butterflies. In her farewell film, The Strange Girl (1967), she gave one of her best performances as a psychologically disturbed woman.
