BESSBOROUGH, John William Ponsonby, conte di Uomo politico inglese, nato nel 1781. Nel 1805 entrò nel parlamento e si schierò subito nel partito whig , insieme col quale combatté aspre battaglie parlamentari, specialmente attorno al 1830, in favore dell'emancipazione dei cattolici e della riforma parlamentare.
