Their fourth album Tempo was recorded in Chicago by John McEntire and wins the Spellemannprisen 2002 award for best record in the electronica genre. In the same year Salvatore also participated in the Earworm compilation A Charabang Trip To The Lights.

The duo’s collaboration first took shape across a series of shows in Europe during the fall of 2019, all entirely improvised. Prekop and McEntire set themselves basic parameters such as tempo and key center and allowed their instruments to intertwine freely, tempered by their deft instincts as improvisers and listeners.
Tortoise is an American post-rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1990. [1] The band incorporates krautrock, dub, minimal music, electronica and jazz into their music, and their eclectic style has left a great influence on the post-rock genre. Tortoise have been consistently credited for the rise of the post-rock movement in the 1990s.
