  5. Introduced in 1947, the Kaiser was a family of cars built by Kaiser-Frazer. Alongside the upmarket Frazer, the Kaiser was positioned as a more economical series of cars. The Kaiser was available in two or four door sedan body styles, as well as a hatchback version known as the Traveler.

  6. Both the Kaiser and Frazer (which were essentially identical) were designed and mocked up in Kaiser’s Emeryville facility under the watchful eye of Henry Kaiser himself. It was here that Kaiser-Frazer engineers developed the first fenderless car designs of the postwar era, and also beat Detroit in the race to release them.
