Free movement of people in the EU. EU citizens have the right to free movement in the EU and to establish their residence in any EU country. In 2021, 1.4 million people moved from one EU country to another. This is an increase of 10% compared with 2020, which was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Germany has the next-largest such population with about 15.8 million migrants, followed by Saudi Arabia with 13.5 million.
