4 dic 2017 · La biografia di Edward Steichen. Edward Steichen, nato in Lussemburgo nel 1879, studia belle arti alla Milwaukee Art Students League con Richard Lorenz e Robert Shade. Parallelamente alla pittura, Steichen si interessa anche di fotografia e nel 1895 inizia a praticare la fotografia artistica.

9 apr 2024 · Edward Steichen was an American photographer who achieved distinction in a remarkably broad range of roles. In his youth he was perhaps the most talented and inventive photographer among those working to win public acceptance of photography as a fine art.
Once in Paris, Steichen soon gave up painting and began focusing exclusively on the medium of photography. His artistic education there was twofold: Steichen both worked to improve his technical skills behind the camera and in the darkroom and also availed himself of the city’s vast artistic resources.
