Trey Anastasio, Phish, led Surrender To the Air, a free jazz group that featured Marshall Allen, Damon Choice and Michael Ray of Sun Ra Orchestra, John Medeski and Marc Ribot, Oteil Burbridge and Jon Fishman among others. In April 1996, the group performed two concerts at New York Arts Academy. They disbanded soon after.
