St Mary's College is a college of Durham University in England. Following the grant of a supplemental charter in 1895 allowing women to receive degrees of the university, St Mary's was founded as the Women's Hostel in 1899, adopting its present name in May 1920.
Originally founded in the 19th century, St Mary's retains the traditions of a long-established College in supporting and nurturing academic excellence, whilst also encouraging students to take advantage of the many opportunities available to participate in music, art, drama, sport and community projects.
St Mary’s provides accommodation to a diverse community of students. We currently have 312 rooms in College at Elvet Hill and, for 2023/24, 48 rooms (PG only) at Brackenbury, Dryburn Court.
