Judith Veronica Mowatt, OD (born 1952) is a Jamaican reggae artist. As well as being a solo artist, from 1974 she was also a member of the I Threes, the trio of backing vocalists for Bob Marley & The Wailers. Early life. Mowatt was born in Gordon Town, St. Andrew Parish, Jamaica.
8 feb 2024 · A solo career didn't completely stop Judy Mowatt's work with musical groups. Besides the I-Threes, she also sang with Twelve Tribes of Israel, a reggae collective devoted to Rastafarianism. Mowatt herself was a devoted Rastafari for a good part of her life, having joined the religion in her early 20s.

1 gen 2004 · Born in 1952, Judy Mowatt began her career in Kingston as a dancer. She soon became a member of several successful women’s singing groups in the 1960s and early ’70s. Then she teamed up with Marcia Griffiths and Rita Marley to form the powerful backup singing team for Bob Marley and the Wailers, The I-Threes.
