John Dandridge (born 1758 or 1762–1799) was a Virginia lawyer, planter and politician in New Kent County, Virginia, which he represented in the Virginia House of Delegates for four terms.
Martha Dandridge was the daughter of John Dandridge and Frances Jones. Although orphaned as a child, Martha’s mother, Frances Jones, had received a respectable inheritance from her father, Orlando Jones, who left ten slaves and land in King William County.
Martha Dandridge was the daughter of John Dandridge and Frances Jones. John Dandridge (1700-1756) immigrated to America in 1714 and was then son of an English craftsman. Frances Jones (1710-1785) was the daughter of a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses.
Frances Jones Dandridge (August 6, 1710 – April 9, 1785) was the mother of Martha Washington, the first First Lady of the United States. She was born in New Kent County, Virginia. Her father Orlando Jones and maternal grandfather Colonel Gideon Macon served on the House of Burgesses in Colonial Virginia.
