Scroop Egerton, 1st Duke of Bridgewater (11 August 1681 – 11 January 1744), styled as Viscount Brackley from 1687 to 1701 and as the Earl of Bridgewater from 1701 to 1720, was an English peer, courtier and landowner.

Scroop Egerton, quarto conte, ricoprì diversi incarichi a corte divenendo nel 1720 marchese di Brackley e duca di Bridgwater. Lord Francis Egerton, erede e figlio minore di Scroop ( I duca di Bridgwater ) e noto come padre della navigazione interna britannica , fu l'ultimo duca e alla sua morte divenne conte di Bridgwater suo cugino di primo grado del generale John Egerton.
Sposò, il 22 luglio 1641, Lady Elizabeth Cavendish (1626–14 giugno 1663), figlia di William Cavendish, I duca di Newcastle. Ebbero nove figli: John Egerton, III conte di Bridgewater (9 novembre 1646-19 marzo 1701); Sir William Egerton (15 agosto 1649-1692), sposò Honora Leigh, ebbero quattro figli; un figlio;

Scroop (sometimes Scrope or Scroope) Egerton was born on 11 August 1681, the fourth but eldest surviving son of John Egerton, 3rd Earl of Bridgwater, and the third son of his second wife, Jane Powlett. He was baptised on 14 August 1681 at St Giles's, Cripplegate.
