The Inner Scar (French: La cicatrice intérieure) is a 1972 French surrealist film directed by Philippe Garrel, who co-stars with Nico, her son Christian Aaron Boulogne and Pierre Clémenti. It was filmed in Egypt, the United States and Iceland.

Philippe Garrel shot La Cicatrice intérieure as the ultimate film-trip to the most desolate territories of the world.
Lost in a maze retread of a mythic kingdom of the self. So much power in the images, even more so by how their seductive surface brings also a good deal of trembling. The islands moves inward, Garrel's patience particularly on those images of characters walking.
