27 nov 2020 · In 2017 Lance waxed his first solo side Conjuring. His primary weapon of choice is Fender Precision! In addition to his ongoing tenure in Orleans, Hoppen also anchors The Rocketmen – an Elton John repertory ensemble based in Nashville.
Orleans is an American pop rock band formed in 1972 in Woodstock, New York by John Hall, Larry Hoppen and Wells Kelly. Larry's younger brother, bassist Lance Hoppen and drummer Jerry Marotta joined the band in 1972 and 1976 respectively.

Formed in Woodstock, NY in February 1972 by John Hall, Larry Hoppen and Wells Kelly, Orleans became a quartet when Lance Hoppen joined in October of that year. Hall’s “Half Moon” was in the first batch of original song demos but, to fill out live shows, they played lots of covers.
Lance toured as one of “the Boys” from ’89 through the spring of ’92. An opportunity to be bandleader for Suzy Bogguss took over for the next two years. Meanwhile, Lance did some session work and small production projects on the side, rubbing elbows with many of Nashville’s finest.
