Die heutige Stiftung Leucorea betreibt mit dem Collegium Fridericianum das Areal, auf dem sich der wesentliche Teil des Universitätslebens abgespielt hatte. Die Reformationsgeschichtliche Forschungsbibliothek sichert und bearbeitet die Überlieferung der Universität, die in Wittenberg verblieben war.
