Ruth S. Aylett (born 1951) is a British author, computer scientist, professor, poet and political activist. She is a professor of computer science at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, where she specialises in affective computing, social computing, software agents, and human–robot interaction.

13 feb 2023 · Ruth Aylett(she/her) is an internationally known researcher in artificial intelligence and robotics, as well as a poet and writer. She was born in London but has kept moving north: from Sheffield, then Manchester, to Edinburgh, where she now shares a tenement flat with two cats and a very large number of books.
Ruth Aylett BSc, MBCS, CEng: Ruth is Professor of Computer Sciences in the School of Maths and Computer Science at Heriot-Watt University. She researches Affective Systems, Social Agents in both graphical and robotic embodiments, and Human-Robot Interaction, as well as Interactive Narrative.
