Subito dopo i primi concerti due nuovi membri si unirono al gruppo, Jamie Pinchbeck al basso e Wayne Furniss alla batteria. Le prime registrazioni, fatte nel giugno 1981, furono fatte ascoltare al DJ John Peel che li invitò alla registrazione di alcuni brani con Dale Griffin (batterista dei Mott the Hoople).

JARV IS... Pulp are an English rock band formed in Sheffield in 1978. At their critical and commercial peak, the band consisted of Jarvis Cocker (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Russell Senior (guitar, violin), Candida Doyle (keyboards), Nick Banks (drums, percussion), Steve Mackey (bass) and Mark Webber (guitar, keyboards).

Pulp. British indie rock/Britpop band founded in 1978 in Sheffield. Sole constant member is Jarvis Cocker who formed the band while at school, and led the band through a series of stylistic changes and numerous band members until finding success and a stable lineup by the early 90s.
