William Scott Bruford (born 17 May 1949) is an English former [2] drummer and percussionist who first gained prominence as a founding member of the progressive rock band Yes.

I've only heard the track Sparkle which was originally on Renaissance Man(?, too lazy to dig out the CD), which also features Vernon Reid on guitar. I remember it was recorded in NYC; Bill was in town for some reason (maybe a gig?) and was flattered to be asked/thought it would be cool to try his hand at some "harmolodics" type more freer jazz ...

Bill Bruford grew up with jazz. As an amateur drummer in the 1960s, and after a handful of lessons from Lou Pocock of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, he began his professional career in 1968. He was a guiding light in the so-called British “Art Rock” movement, touring internationally with Yes and King Crimson from 1968-74.
