Candyland is the second album by the American musician James McMurtry, released in 1992. McMurtry supported the album by participating in the "In Their Own Words: A Bunch of Songwriters Sittin' Around Singing" tour, with Marshall Crenshaw, Don Dixon, Jules Shear, and David Halley.

2 giu 1992 · Candyland, from 1992, while still lyrically strong, looked to showcase McMurtry the heartland rocker. Lyrics are pruned and choruses are sharpened. Trilling organs and tougher guitars produce a wall of sound that McMurtry maneuvers with an experienced hand.

McMurtry released follow-up albums Candyland (1992) and Where'd You Hide the Body (1995). 1997 saw the release of "It Had to Happen" which included a cover of "Wild Man from Borneo" originally done by Kinky Friedman and "Sixty Acres"; a rollicking tune about a dead grandma and the events afterwards.
