Jackrabbit Slim is the second album by singer-songwriter Steve Forbert, released in 1979. It includes his biggest hit single, "Romeo's Tune", which peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard singles chart. The album rose to No. 20 on the Billboard albums chart. First pressings included a bonus one-sided 7-inch single of "The Oil Song".
Steve Forbert and the New Renditions. Recorded live in Asbury Park, NJ at House of Independents on January 25, 2020. This was a night that featured a rare, full-band preformance of the entire Jackrabbit Slim album to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of the record!

Jackrabbit Slim | Steve Forbert. 1979’s Jackrabbit Slim (the second album) is clearly the most commercially successful of Steve’s releases. Featuring the hit single, “Romeo’s Tune”, this 2012 deluxe 2 CD package contains several outtakes, including “Witch Blues” and “The Oil Song”!
Although Jackrabbit Slim was Steve Forbert's best-selling album, containing his only Top 40 hit, "Romeo's Tune," and his only other chart single, "Say Goodbye to Little Jo," it took Nemperor (formerly part of CBS, now part of Sony) 17 years to put it out on CD (on September 3, 1996).
