Ants in the Mouth (Spanish: Hormigas en la boca) is a 2005 Spanish-Cuban thriller film directed by Mariano Barroso, who has also co-written the screenplay. The film is an adaptation of the novel Amanecer con hormigas en la boca by Miguel Barroso. It stars Eduard Fernández, Ariadna Gil, Jorge Perugorría and José Luis Gómez . Plot.

synopsis. The story begins in Havana, at the end of 1958. Martin Losada is a spanish republican, 42, who just left the jail after ten years. The reason...? He stole a bank in Barcelona in order to get money for the Republican cause. Once in the street he discovers he has no friends, no relatives and no country, at least under the rules of Franco.
