The original lineup of Magazine was composed of Devoto, McGeoch, Barry Adamson on bass, Bob Dickinson on keyboards and Martin Jackson on drums. Their debut album, Real Life (1978), was critically acclaimed and was one of the first post-punk albums.

Rays & Hail was the first Magazine compliation, surfacing after the failure of the 2nd Luxuria album (Beast Box)& preceeding out-takes collection Scree; it has since been supplanted by Where the Power Is/Maybe it's Right to be Nervous Now collections of 2000).

16 giu 2020 · The other members of the band's classic lineup included bassist Barry Adamson, keyboardist Dave Formula, and drummer John Doyle. The band burst onto the scene with the single Shot by Both Sides and released four albums before disbanding in 1981.
