Aurore Dupin, a young French girl just out of convent school, grows up to become the most scandalous woman of nineteenth century Paris. Her Bohemian lifestyle, affairs with artists, dress of men's clothing and writing activities all combined to make her an outrageous character for her time.
The series follows George Sand's life as she struggles against the many obstacles that are placed in her path because she is a woman. She takes to dressing like a man and adopting the pen-name "George Sand" for her writings.
