25 ago 2020 · Finn says that, after their initial hits, Lookofsky attempted to rebuild the group around Martin and Brown and fire the other members. Guitarist Jeff Winfield was a victim of that purge; Finn says that he and Cameron were quickly asked back when Lookofsky failed to find suitable replacements.
Former guitarist Jeff Winfield died of complications from pneumonia on June 13th, 2009, at age 60. The two founding members, Tom Finn and George Cameron, reformed The Left Banke in March, 2011. They appeared 'live' at Joe's Pub in New York City, on March 5th and 6th to a sold out audience.
The Left Banke followed with another Brown hit in “Pretty Ballerina,” charting in early 1967. The band released the album Walk Away Renee/Pretty Ballerina later in ’67, by which time, Rick Brand replaced Winfield on guitar. As the Left Banke continued working on new material, tension between Brown and the rest of the band started to arise.
