The Deepest End: Live In Concert. John Heidt. 0. Everyone knows the story by now. Government Mule (and former Allman Brother) bassist Allen Woody passed away a couple years back, and the band paid tribute by releasing a couple of CDs that featured guests bassists, many who were Woody’s favorites and influences.
Booked during the popular New Orleans Jazz Fesitval, the long list of guest bass players from the lengthy gig includes Jack Casady, Les Claypool, Jason Newsted, Roger Glover, Paul Jackson, Jr., Will Lee and Victor Wooten. Produced by Hayes and Chris Tetzeli, The Deepest End: Live in Concert redefines jam session.
