Cyborg is a 1989 American martial-arts cyberpunk film directed by Albert Pyun. Jean-Claude van Damme stars as Gibson Rickenbacker, a mercenary who battles a group of murderous marauders led by Fender Tremolo (Vincent Klyn) along the East coast of the United States in a post-apocalyptic future.

- Terminator e Terminator Salvation: T-800 e Marcus. Il capolavoro di James Cameron ha per antagonista l’implacabile Arnold Schwarzenegger nei panni di “un organismo cibernetico: tessuto vivente su endoscheletro metallico”.
- Darth Vader – La vendetta dei Sith. Il villain dal respiro sibilante che da bambini conoscevano come Dart Fener è l’esempio cinematografico più famoso di cyborg.
- Steve Austin – L’uomo da sei milioni di dollari. Questo telefilm americano degli anni ‘70 ispirato al romanzo Cyborg di Martin Caidin è un vero e proprio classico anche in Italia, o almeno lo è stato fino a quando il suo spinoff un po’ kitsch La donna bionica con l’invincibile Jaime Sommers non gli ha soffiato il primato.
