James Gang. ROCK · 1974. Preview. 1973’s Bang represented yet another new beginning for the resilient James Gang. Domenic Troiano replaced Joe Walsh, and when Troiano left, drummer Jim Fox replaced him with Tommy Bolin, who had found minimal success with the Colorado-based outfit Zephyr.
From 1974 come the James Gang’s ‘Bang’ and ‘Miami’. Both albums feature Tommy Bolin who replaced Dominic Trolano, who himself had replaced Joe Walsh. Bolin remained with the band for these two albums before leaving to join Deep Purple. Both recordings made the US Top 200. Digitally remastered and slipcased and with new notes.
Bang is the sixth studio album by James Gang, released in 1973. This is the first James Gang album featuring lead guitarist Tommy Bolin after Domenic Troiano left the band. Critical reception.
