Anthony Christopher Hicks (born 16 December 1945) is an English guitarist and singer who has been a member of the British rock/pop band the Hollies since 1963, and as such was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. For the audition, they brought in Tony Hicks to replace the departing Steele. Hicks played in a Nelson band called the Dolphins, which also featured Bobby Elliott on drums and Bernie Calvert on bass.
After seeing Buddy Holly and The Crickets, on ITV’s ‘Sunday Night at The London Palladium’, Tony realised that it just might be possible for a working class boy to attain his dream. The Dolphins were Tony’s next step along the path to Hollieland.
