Jehanne d'Alcy was born on 20 March 1865 in Vaujours, Seine-et-Oise [now Seine-Saint-Denis], France. She was an actress and costume designer, known for Haggard's She: The Pillar of Fire (1899), Bluebeard (1901) and The Conjuring of a Woman at the House of Robert Houdin (1896).

Biography. A performer at the Théâtre Robert-Houdin from 1888, when it was re-opened by Georges Méliès, Jehanne d'Alcy (also known as Fanny Manieux) later became Méliès's mistress and appeared in a number of his films, including the first of his risqué productions Après le bal - le tub (1897).
