Tioreore Ngatai-Melbourne (born 21 October 1999) is a New Zealand actress, director, and playwright. She made her acting debut in Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016), and came to prominence for her role in The Convert (2023), for which she was named a Rising Star at the Toronto International Film Festival .

Eight years after Tioreore Ngatai-Melbourne (Ngāti Porou, Ngai Tūhoe) broke-out in Taika Waititi’s Hunt for the Wilderpeople, she’s garnering further international acclaim as the female lead (alongside Guy Pearce) in Lee Tamahori’s historical drama The Convert.
Named a “Rising Star” at the Toronto International Film Festival, she plays the lead in the new Lee Tamahori film, The Convert, an historical drama which will be released at the festival. As a wahine Māori, Ngatai-Melbourne (Ngāti Porou, Ngai Tūhoe) is proud to play lead character, Rangimai, in The Convert, alongside Australian actor Guy Pearce.
