Lewis Milestone (born Leib Milstein (Russian: Лейб Мильштейн); September 30, 1895 – September 25, 1980) was an American film director. Milestone directed Two Arabian Knights (1927) and All Quiet on the Western Front (1930), both of which received the Academy Award for Best Director.
Lewis Milestone was a director, writer and producer of films such as All Quiet on the Western Front, Two Arabian Knights and Mutiny on the Bounty. He was born in Bessarabia, raised in Odessa and educated in Belgium and Berlin, and won two Oscars for his work.
