Jerry Ito (July 12, 1927 in New York City, New York – July 8, 2007 in Los Angeles, California) was a Japanese-American film and television actor, born as Gerald Tamekichi Itō, specializing in Japanese films throughout the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.

The son of dancer Michio Ito, nephew of actor Koreya Senda and set designer Kisaku Ito, and cousin of composer Teiji Ito, Jerry Ito came from a family of entertainers.
Jerry Ito had the pivotal role as the film’s villain, Clark Nelson, the greedy entrepreneur who kidnaps the Shobijin from their home on Beiru Island (renamed Infant Island in later films) and forces them to perform in his “Secret Fairies Stage Show” in Japan.

Jerry Ito is best known for playing the outrageously greedy Western businessman Clark Nelson in Mothra (1961), which was just one of many similar roles he played both in film and television. He appeared in NHK’s educational series “Let’s Play in English” from 1995 through 1997.
