Shivaji Rao Gaikwad (born 12 December 1950), known professionally as Rajinikanth (/ r ə ˌ dʒ ɪ n ɪ ˈ k ɑː n t / rə-JIN-ih-KAHNTH), is an Indian actor who works predominantly in Tamil cinema.
