David Garrick (19 February 1717 – 20 January 1779) was an English actor, playwright, theatre manager and producer who influenced nearly all aspects of European theatrical practice throughout the 18th century, and was a pupil and friend of Samuel Johnson.

Attore e direttore di teatro (Hereford 1717 - Londra 1779), rinnovatore del teatro inglese del sec. 18º. Esordì nel 1741 a Londra, fu poi a Dublino nel 1742 e nel 1745 a Londra al Covent Garden, e dal 1747 al 1776, quando si ritirò dalle scene, direttore del Drury Lane.
