Wilfredo Gómez Rivera (Spanish pronunciation: [wilˈfɾeðo ˈɣomes]; born October 29, 1956), sometimes referred to as Bazooka Gómez, is a Puerto Rican former professional boxer and three weight world champion.

Wilfredo Gomez. Salazar was a last minute replacement for Arturo Hernandez, who withdrew on the day of the fight due to hand injury. Salazar was reported to be 28-10 entering the fight. Gomez vacated the title in April 1983 to move up to Featherweight. This fight was the featured bout on the undercard of Holmes v. Cooney.
