Joseph Patrick Kennedy Jr. (Hull, 25 luglio 1915 – Suffolk, 12 agosto 1944) è stato un aviatore statunitense, primo figlio di Joseph P. Kennedy e Rose Fitzgerald, e quindi fratello maggiore di John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
Joseph Patrick Kennedy Jr. (July 25, 1915 – August 12, 1944) was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Kennedy family and the eldest of the nine children born to Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. and Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy.

Throughout her 27 years in service, the U.S.S. Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. DD850 participated in the Korean War and in the U.S. naval quarantine of Cuba during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, as well as various U.S. space missions, recovering Gemini 6 and Gemini 7, until her decommission in 1973.

Joseph P. Kennedy Jr., the oldest child of Joseph and Rose Kennedy, was born on July 25, 1915. He attended the Choate School in Connecticut and the London School of Economics prior to entering Harvard, from which he graduated cum laude in 1938.
