Charles William Alcock è stato un calciatore, arbitro di calcio, crickettista e dirigente sportivo inglese. Fu uno dei maggiori artefici, a livello internazionale, dello sviluppo del cricket e del calcio, oltre ad essere stato l'ideatore della Coppa d'Inghilterra.
Charles William Alcock (2 December 1842 – 26 February 1907) was an English sportsman, administrator, author and editor. He was a major instigator in the development of both international football and cricket , as well as being the creator of the FA Cup .

Charles Alcock is the former director of the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian, a position he held for 17 years until January 2022. Charles remains a Professor of Astronomy at Harvard University and a Senior Scientist at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory pursuing research related to the Taiwan-America Occultation Survey.
