Barry Venison (born 16 August 1964) is an English football coach, former professional footballer and sports television pundit. As a player was a defender from 1981 to 1997. He played for Sunderland, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Galatasaray and Southampton. He was capped twice by England.

Barry first attracted attention when he lead Sunderland out in the 1985 Milk Cup final, the youngest ever captain in a Wembley final. He began the 1986-87 season as first choice right back at Anfield with Jim Beglin playing on the left.
