Alistair Murdoch McCoist, MBE (/ m ə ˈ k ɔɪ s t /; born 24 September 1962) is a Scottish former footballer who has since worked as a manager and TV pundit. McCoist began his playing career with Scottish club St Johnstone , before moving to English side Sunderland in 1981.

As per Fitbastats, he scored 362 goals in 585 games for the Ibrox giants across a 15-year spell. 251 goals were scored in the Scottish top-flight while McCoist scored 29 in the Scottish Cup and 54 in the Scottish League Cup, the latter being a competition record.

Alistair Murdoch "Ally" McCoist, MBE ( /məˈkɔɪst/; born 24 September 1962 in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire) is a Scottish former professional football player who played as a striker. He is currently the manager of Rangers, where he spent fifteen of his twenty-two years as a player.
‘Super Ally’ helped the Light Blues to ten League Championships, one Scottish Cup and nine League Cups. His exploits in the box saw him crowned Scottish PFA Players’ Player of the Year in 1992 and he became the first player to win the European Golden Boot back to back, in 1992 and 1993.
