Ecaterina Szabo (Hungarian: Szabó Katalin, Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈsɒboː ˈkɒtɒlin]; born 22 January 1967) is a former Romanian artistic gymnast who won 20 Olympic, world and continental medals.

At the 1985 World Championships she won another three silver medals and in 1987 she won her second gold at World Championships with the team and a bronze in beam, bringing her total medals at the Worlds up to 10 (2-6-2).

19 ott 2018 · Ecaterina Szabo gave an interview to Céline Nony of L’Equipe last spring, shortly before the European Championships. In the interview, she talked about her career and training under Karolyis, about Romania not qualifying to the Rio Olympics, and about her current life in France.
Always poised and cool in competition, Ecaterina Szabo was the ideal gymnast, with creativity, flexibility, style and technique. By the time her career ended in 1987, she had won five Olympic medals, four of them gold, eight World medals, and an amazing 11 Junior and Senior European medals combined.
