Bard College is a private liberal arts college in the hamlet of Annandale-on-Hudson, in the town of Red Hook, in New York State. The campus overlooks the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains within the Hudson River Historic District—a National Historic Landmark.
All first-year students participate in a common curriculum: the Language and Thinking Program, First-Year Seminar, and Citizen Science. The first year at Bard begins with Language and Thinking, a three-week intensive introduction to the liberal arts and sciences with a particular focus on writing. Video Gallery.

Bard College is a Fulbright top producing institution. Sara Varde de Nieves ’22, who was a joint major in film and electronic arts and in human rights at Bard, has been selected for a Fulbright Study/Research Award to Chile for the 2024–25 academic year.
Many of Bard’s graduate programs are located on the college’s main campus in Annandale-on-Hudson, 90 miles north of New York City.
