Leopold Mozart nacque ad Augusta in Austria il 14 novembre 1719. Fu un compositore e violinista, padre del più famoso Wolfgang Amadeus e di Maria Anna. Uomo colto e di forte personalità, destinato alla carriera ecclesiastica, cambiò il suo destino alla morte del padre e abbandonò questa strada, nel 1737, quando si iscrisse all’Università di Salisburgo.
