Masashi Hamauzu (浜渦 正志, Hamauzu Masashi, born September 20, 1971) is a Japanese composer, pianist, and lyricist. Hamauzu, who was employed at Square Enix from 1996 to 2010, was best known during that time for his work on the Final Fantasy and SaGa video game series.

15 nov 2023 · If you’re a fan of game music, you’ve almost certainly heard of Masashi Hamauzu - or at least listened to his work. The legendary composer has contributed to some of the greatest soundtracks of all time, including SaGa Frontier 2, FINAL FANTASY X, FINAL FANTASY XIII and FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE.
Composer. Born September 20, 1971 in Munich, Germany, Masashi Hamauzu graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts with a vocal music concentration. Raised in a household where both parents were musicians, from a young age he aspired to compose music.
Masashi Hamauzu. 作曲家、編曲家。 1971年9月20日、ミュンヘン生まれ。 東京芸術大学音楽学部声楽科卒業後、株式会社スクウェア・エニックスに入社。 多彩な和声とオーケストレーションで、多くの支持を得ていく。 同社在籍時代の代表作は「ファイナルファンタジーXIII」「サガ・フロンティア2」「ファイナルファンタジーX」「アンリミテッド・サガ」「チョコボの不思議なダンジョン」「シグマ・ハーモニクス」「武蔵伝II」「ダージュオブケルベロス・ファイナルファンタジーVII」等。 2007年ピアノソロ・アルバム「Vielen Dank」をリリース。 2009年全編担当した「ファイナルファンタジーXIII」の音楽では世界的な評価を受け、サウンドトラックもオリコン初登場3位を記録。
