As the head of the SS Main Economic and Administrative Office and the head administrator of the Nazi concentration camps, he was a key figure in the Final Solution, the genocide of the European Jews.
Oswald Ludwig Pohl (* 30. Juni 1892 in Duisburg; † 7. Juni 1951 in Landsberg) war ein deutscher SS-Obergruppenführer und General der Waffen-SS. Pohl war als Leiter des SS-Wirtschafts-Verwaltungshauptamtes (WVHA) maßgeblich an der Durchführung des Holocaust beteiligt.

Oswald Pohl was born on June 30, 1892 in Duisburg. After serving in the First World War Pohl entered the Nazi Party in 1922, and four years later was made an SA Leader. A naval officer by profession, Pohl rose to the position of Senior Paymaster captain.
