Filippo Taglioni è stato un ballerino e coreografo italiano. È il padre riconosciuto del balletto romantico. Fu il coreografo della versione originale del balletto La Sylphide ed il padre dei ballerini Paolo e Maria Taglioni.
Filippo Taglioni (aka Philippe Taglioni; 5 November 1777 – 11 February 1871) was an Italian dancer and choreographer and personal teacher to his own daughter, Romantic ballerina Marie Taglioni. (He had another child who also danced ballet, Paul Taglioni.)

Filippo Taglioni, nato a Milano nel 1777, fu avviato allo studio della danza dal padre Carlo, noto ballerino e coreografo della danza italiana del secondo Settecento. Compì le sue prime esibizioni in vari teatri italiani, interpretando soprattutto ruoli en travesti.
Italian dancer and choreographer, and creator of the seminal Romantic ballet La Sylphide. The son of Carlo T. and the father of Marie T. and Paul T. He made his debut in 1794 as a child dancing female roles in Pisa.
This two-act work by Filippo Taglioni, in which the dancers embodied the illusion of weightlessness as aerial spirits, not only marked the breakthrough of pointe dance in the 1830s; together with the white tutus of the ghostly creatures, an image of this art form was created that still symbolises classical dance today.
