Shira Ann Scheindlin (/ ˈ ʃ ɛ n d l ɪ n /; née Joffe; born August 16, 1946) is an American attorney and jurist who served as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She is currently of counsel at Boies Schiller Flexner LLP.

Biography. Shira A. Scheindlin served for 22 years as a U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of New York. She recently completed a two-year term as the Co-Chair of the Board of the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. She is also a member of the Boards of the American Constitution Society and the Justice Resource Center.
