Talented photographer Natalie (Kyra Sedgwick) is having financial difficulties in New York City, New York. Her friend and agent Julia (Stockard Channing) finds a two day job in Boston, Massachusetts for twenty thousand dollars, and the reluctant Natalie accepts the work due to her need of money.
Set in New York and New England (but filmed in Newfoundland), Behind the Red Door stars Kyra Sedgwick as Manhattan-based photographer Natalie Haddad, who enjoys success with her strangely gloomy and foreboding camerawork.
Behind the Red Door is a story of one woman’s journey through the forgotten past of her family’s violent history and her mother’s tragic murder. Natalie (Sedgwick) embarks on a path of self discovery as she is faced with a last chance for redemption from her troubling youth and the truth that she has hidden all her life.
