The Naked King – 18 Fragments on Revolution nasce in qualche sorta nel lontano 1978, anno in cui Hoessli si reca in Polonia per il suo lavoro di dottorato. Lì stringe amicizia con Ryszard Kapucscinski che lavorava allora come reporter in Iran e che diventa per così dire il protagonista del suo film.
